A memorial service will be held for a great friend and servant of the club, John Makinson, at the Cathedral on Saturday, 14th January at 12 noon. All are welcome.

John was Honorary Secretary of the club from the 1962/63 season through to 1972/73 and President in 1973/74.

A solicitor by profession, he was also a director of The North of England Zoological Society, Chester Zoo Enterprises Ltd and chairman of Friends of the Meadows.

He passed away on the 8th of December, aged 92.
